If God is your co-pilot, swap seats. In the dark? Follow the Son. If you can't sleep, don't count sheep. Talk to the Shepherd. If you don't like the way you were born, try being born again. How will you spend eternity -- smoking or non-smoking? If you're headed in the wrong direction, God allows U-turns. May the forces of evil become confused on the way to your house. (George Carlin) Feed your faith and doubt will starve to death. Don't go digging where God has buried your sins. When satan is knocking at your door, simply say, "Jesus, could you please get that for me." A clean conscience makes a soft pillow. Don't wait for the hearse to take you to church. A family altar can alter a family. A lot of kneeling will keep you in good standing. Give God what's right, not what's left. Exercise daily. Walk with the Lord. He who kneels before God can stand before anyone! The will of God will never take you to where the Grace of God will not protect you. The task ahead of us is never as great as the power behind us. The ten commandments aren't prefaced with "if you're in the mood." Laughter is life's shock absorber. Live your life in the manner that you would like your kids to live theirs. You don't have to attend every argument you're invited to. The Bible contains the vitamins of soul health. Scars remind us of where we've been, but they don't have to dictate where we're going. Do not ask the Lord to guide your footsteps if you are not willing to move your feet. Belief is the truth held in the mind. Faith is a fire in the heart. (Joseph Newton) Be the kind of woman that, when your feet hit the ground each morning, the devil says, "Oh crap, she's up!" Even if you are on the right track, you will get run over if you just sit there. (Will Rogers) Worry looks around. Sorry looks back. Faith looks up. Kindness is language we all understand. Even the blind can see it and the deaf can hear it. (Mother Teresa) The heaviest thing you can carry is a grudge. The best and most beautiful things of this world can't be seen or touched. They must be felt by the heart. Those who walk with God reach their destination. The Bible is meant to be bread for daily use, not cake for special occasions. Faith means that you have peace even when you don't have all the answers. Do not look where you fell, but where you slipped. A raindrop landing on your cheek is a kiss from someone that lives in heaven and is watching over you. Don't wait for someone to bring you flowers. Plant your own garden and decorate your own soul. You need to stop doing things for someone when you find out its expected rather than appreciated. A beautiful woman uses her lips for truth, her voice for kindness, her ears for compassion, her hands for charity and her heart for love. For those that don't like her, she uses prayer. Love the people who saw you when you were invisible to everyone else. |
Take all the Bible you can on reason and the rest by faith. A friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out. The most essential element in any home is God. Stand still and watch the world go by -- and it will. The fact you are down isn't as important as whether you are satisfied in being there. There are two kinds of grace: saving grace and disgrace. No man ever got lost on a straight road. It's smart to pick your friends -- but not to pieces. The most valuable antiques are old friends. Keep your temper -- nobody wants it. Real friends are those who, when you feel you've made a fool of yourself, don't feel you've done a permanent job. Lead your life so you won't be ashamed to sell the family parrot to the town gossip. Always put yourself in others' shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably hurts the person too. A careless word may kindle strife A cruel word may wreck a life A timely word may level stress A loving word may heal and bless. Your worst days are never so bad that you are beyond the reach of God's grace. And your best days are never so good that you are beyond the need of God's grace. Christianity is a verb. God gives and forgives. Man gets and forgets. Following the path of least resistance is what makes rivers and men crooked. No God - No peace. Know God - Know peace. A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle. When you're having bad dreams, turn your pillow over. The good dreams are on the other side. Worry is like a rocking chair -- it gives you something to do but doesn't get you anywhere. Thank God for what you have -- Trust God for what you need. (Raymond Edman) Your life may be the only bible some people read. Don't put people down, unless its on your prayer list. Nothing is permanent in this world, not even your troubles. (Charlie Chaplin) One thing you can't recycle is wasted time. The happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts. One thing you can give and still keep is your word. Of all the things you wear, your expression is the most important. Your mind is like a parachute. It functions only when open. Faith is the tenacity that believes when believing isn't easy and circumstances are hard. Happiness is not a destination. It is a method of life. Lean on each other's strengths. Forgive each other's weaknesses. What wings are to a bird, and sails to a ship, so is prayer to the soul. Do not regret growing older. It is a privilege denied to many. Prayer is the one thing everyone can afford to give. Tears are prayers too. They travel to God when we can't speak. A true friend sees the first tear, catches the second, and stops the third. Miracles start to happen when you give as much energy to your dreams as you do to your fears. Don't let someone become a priority in your life when you are just an option in theirs. Nothing is really lost until your mom can't find it. If you are lucky enough to be different, don't ever change. |
Don't be unhappy if your dreams never come true -- just be thankful your nightmares don't. You can't keep trouble from coming, but you needn't give it a chair to sit in. Freedom is not the right to do as you please, but the liberty to do as you ought. Don't become discouraged. It may be the last key in the bunch that will open the door. God still speaks to those who take the time to listen. God looks not to the quantity of the gift but to the quality of the giver. Great minds discuss ideas; normal minds discuss events; small minds discuss people. A Christian is a living sermon whether or not he preaches a word. Conscience is that small, still voice that makes you feel smaller. When we have done what we can, God will do what we can't. Every time you turn green with envy, you are ripe for trouble. A Christian must carry something heavier on his shoulders than chips. Genuine faith is assuring, insuring and enduring. When God measures a man, he puts the tape around the heart. The truth is one thing for which there are no known substitutes. Charity begins anywhere and should have no end. God makes a promise. Faith believes it. Hope anticipates it. Patience quietly awaits it. A wise man will desire no more than he can get honestly, use wisely, and leave cheerfully. Kindness is a language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see. Confess your sins, not your neighbor's. The best way to stand up before the world is to kneel down before God. Confessing your sins is no substitute for forsaking them. Learn to enjoy little things -- there are so many of them. No man has a right to do as he pleases, except when he pleases to do right. As a man grows older and wiser, he talks less and says more. If you want to defend Christianity, practice it! Will the road you're on get you to God's place? Life isn't waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning how to dance in the rain. Don't lose hope. When it gets the darkest, the stars come out. I am thankful for the clothes that fit a little too snug because it means I have enough to eat. When you come to the edge of all the light you know and are about to step off into the darkness of the unknown, FAITH is knowing one of 2 things will happen: there will be something solid to stand on or you will be taught how to fly. I hold that the more helpless a creature, the more entitled it is to protection by man from the cruelty of man. (Mahatma Gandhi) Freedom isn't free. Somebody paid. Faith is the bird that sings, while it is still dark, in anticipation of the dawn. The world always looks brighter from behind a smile. Faith -- It doesn't make things easy. It makes them possible! Let your smile change the world, but don't let the world change your smile. You can worry or you can trust God. The only thing worse than being blind is having sight and no vision. Anger is what gets most of us into trouble. Pride is what keeps us there. A real friend is someone who tries to pick you up when you've fallen. And if they can't pick you up, they lay down right beside you. Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light. Strength doesn't come from what you can do. It comes from overcoming the things you once thought you couldn't. Don't spend new tears on old grief. |
